Guns That You Can Find Over Again Borderlands

Much better washed.

The first borderlands was a fun and unique game when it came out, but I volition never go back to it later I played this game. The game play is pretty much the same, simply this fourth dimension it feels much more fluent. The characters each have their own personality, but I really got annoyed with Scooter and Claptrap this fourth dimension around. Not to mention you never get a interruption from Handsome Jack, his graphic symbol is meant to exist abrasive, but I don't know if they meant it for some of the other characters. I like that they changed the designs of the guns, much more variety than the outset game. It was cool to see the outset grouping of vault hunters again. The music is also really good, I especially love the song "Ice", every fourth dimension I hear it I beginning getting pumped up. The graphics are meliorate, they look much more articulate, but it also has some load in times and the frame rate tends to drop at some points in the game. There is some glitches as well, some of them fifty-fifty screwed up a mission, I had to restart the game. The levelling up system is extremely fun and feels actually rewarding. So far this is the simply game I got this year and I'thousand glad I did get it. I did discover the 2nd play through mode fabricated things much, much harder, it actually got me angry but the game is too skillful for me to be put off.

August 20, 2013. Update It's been a long fourth dimension coming that I wanted to update this review. I've been playing the hell out of this game the last week. Leveling up the Mechromancer I but purchased. The true vault hunter mode simply frustrated me with the ane shot and I'm done garbage. The Assassin obviously wasn't the best character to try and go to level 50, well I fabricated it to level 42. Whatever way, the Mechromancer just makes the game much more enjoyable, the deathtrap destroys everything, she is a much improve course. That and I've constitute much ameliorate boodle this time effectually. I realized the only difficulty this game offers is enemies that one shot you, it's merely apparently annoying. 2012 was a pretty crappy twelvemonth for video games, so this easily takes game of the year for me. There's 6 characters to play every bit, then that's half-dozen play-throughs worth of replay value. I haven't even touched the DLC yet. So this game is on terms with Fallout, for bang for your buck.

Highly recommend to anyone that likes shooters or RPG'southward, very fun.

Having Fun But There Are Some Annoyances

Warning: Spoilers

I never played the first Borderlands and so I'grand going into this ane blindly. So far I'm having a lot of fun. I love a good first person shooter, especially i that makes yous call back and form strategies. I dear shooting with sniper rifles and I've found a skilful 1 and am and so far sticking with it along with a practiced machine gun. I'm early in the game, just made it to Santuary, just I must say there are a few things that the game could accept improved on. At 1 bespeak I fell into a crevice between two structures and got stuck and couldn't become out and had to quit the game and get-go the mission way dorsum at the quick travel point. The save system is all screwed up because when you die, you regenerate at the last save point, but if you quit the game and start again you regenerate all the way back at the surface area's quick travel betoken, which is a existent hurting because you then have to fight your style through all the regenerated enemies that y'all've already killed in gild to get back to where you left off. Considering how long some of the missions are probably going to exist, using "world'southward greatest minion" as an example, I can imagine this getting very frustrating. The "fight for you life" mode is too completely annoying. I've managed to save my life a few times by killing something while in fight for life simply even and so yous just come dorsum with a niggling bit of life left and if zilch is effectually to impale you only have to await it out and die. That'southward just dumb. So far at that place'due south no way to give yourself any wellness unless you stumble upon a health needle and these so far have been far and few between, and they can't be saved to use in emergencies merely tin can merely be consumed on the spot when picking them up or buying them. Or if you lot used your Badass bonus to allow you to regenerate health slowly you can hide in a corner and wait for several minutes to regenerate but this is boring. I wonder if this volition modify as the game goes on. As well these flaws the game is pretty addicting and I'm glad I traded in my copy of Dead Isle (one of the worst games I've ever attempted to play) to become Borderlands ii at a cheap cost.

Office Ii

Well into the game now and at that place are quite a few annoyances that subtract from what could be a perfect game. Firstly the missions are then long and drawn out. I'one thousand trying to salvage Roland now and I've been at it for 2 days. Information technology's very hard to create a strategy because even though you slowly get an agreement of what types of weapons work all-time on what types of enemies, the weapons you need aren't readily available. Y'all might be lucky enough to stumble upon the perfect weapon that works well against a giant shield, but if non, you are going to notice yourself spending hours trying to defeat the shielded boss equally swarms of enemies fire at y'all until you merely might want to throw the controller at the screen. Information technology'due south cool that there are and so many weapons available but it'south as well overwhelming. I mean, you can spend hours in your inventory trying to figure out what you want to sell, what yous want to continue in your safe and what you want to equip, only to so stumble upon another breast of weapons that yous might non even be able to pick up if you are equipped to the max: and so you take to decide what you want to drop if anything. Information technology's a lilliputian much. The action is very fast paced which means you're very likely to get overwhelmed past multiple enemies, making you lot die, costing you money and sending yous dorsum to the last checkpoint. I have a feeling this wouldn't be a trouble if you lot are playing with a friend or two, but in a single player campaign some of these areas tin exist virtually incommunicable to consummate without dying a dozen times and this is very, very frustrating, especially since you lose a skilful chunk of money every time y'all die. Anyway, I'g at the finish of the saving Roland mission (I hope) and am trying to kill that matter with the shield and must have died twenty times already, even though I'm using weapons that are suppose to work well confronting shields, so thought I'd take a interruption and limited my frustration here.

Too, I'grand finding the music actually repetitive.

PART 3

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!! Took a pause and went back at it. Idea perhaps if I did a few side missions I'd get some better weapons or something. Later on battling a couple of hours through dozens of enemies and finally figuring out how to get to the top of the transport while battling more enemies all along and of grade dying several times, I tried to make my way back to get my loot and admittedly could non notice a path to get back to the starting point of the mission. After another hour of driving effectually in the clunky vehicle crashing into things and getting attacked past more enemies and dying a dozen more times I started screaming and cursing and turned the organisation off before I kicked it to pieces. What is incorrect with game developers these days. This game has such corking graphics, such a wonderful fighting system, so many unique weapons, but trying to go through a single side mission is like wading through sludge. I only want to become dorsum to the get-go point already!! I don't want to fight a 1000 more guys. I desire to get to the get-go bespeak and salve the stupid progress already. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!

What Borderlands should accept been.

Borderlands 2 builds upwardly on the original game, streamlining some features and improving the overall feel, while keeping the concept behind the original game intact.

I'chiliad not a fan of Borderlands. When it came out, I felt it wasn't such a great single player game, just it had huge potential to be either a classic LAN-party game or an internet competitive i. If you had a agglomeration of friends you could LAN with, it was fantastic: funny, challenging and you had many hours of gameplay. The other selection was pubstomping some kids in PvP. Whether it was the Pokemon variant - farming the content solo and jumping online to pewpew some randoms - or the Diablo variant - farming the content online with other players - the idea was focused on running the same bosses and levels over and over trying to learn some very rare and special gear, to then reign supreme in duels. Nonetheless, not everyone of us had the chance to play the game like that and, if multi-role player wasn't an option, yous were left with what was a pretty banal FPS-RPG hybrid.

Borderlands two fabricated noticeable improvements in terms of gameplay and presentation. Firstly, the game became a ton more humorous. The original Borderlands still tried to retain a gloomy, somber feel that it never quite achieved. This time around, every character y'all talk to is absolutely hilarious. Big props to the writers. In terms of the bodily game, the addition of a mini-map to replace the kickoff game'southward clunky waypoint-compass system is a simple yet incredible improvement. Missions and side-missions are now very easy to pick up and turn in through MMO-manner markers on the map, as reverse to Claptrap simply telling you someone has a quest for you and you lot having to spend thirty minutes looking for the quest-giver. Also in the quest section, even the almost banal side-mission now has vocalism-acting and somewhat of a plot, trivial as it might be. The full general user-interface and inventory arrangement, while keeping the same experience as the original, have likewise been reworked to a much better blueprint that makes item direction and stat weighing very instinctive.

Visually, the game besides seems to have been slightly improved as well. Pandora definitely looks much more clear and crisp than earlier, but the cartoony cel-shading graphics are still there, and so it's pretty hard to tell how much meliorate the visuals actually got. The important thing is that the balance between looks and operation is still very good, and so people with depression-tier computers can probably nonetheless bask this i.

Now, Borderlands 2 still has a few flaws.

The matter that I hated the most near the game was all the senseless running around. RPGs, inherently, come up packed with a lot of traveling. Granted. However, in titles like Fallout 3 or Skyrim, where the distances are far greater, walking for 10 minutes to accomplish some destination didn't feel like such a task. Perhaps it was the fast travel system guaranteeing that you but had to walk in that location in one case before yous could revisit with just a click. Mayhap it had something to practice with the atmosphere or landscapes of the game world you're spending so much time running in. Whatsoever the case, at that place are many instances in Borderlands 2 that yous have to run all the fashion to the end of a map, complete a quest then run all the manner back to the entrance of the zone. Multiply this a few times per side-mission and I can assure y'all: it gets erstwhile really fast. The simple way to fix this was to add together an instant recall item, like the hearthstone in Earth of Warcraft or the town portal in Diablo ii. Alas, no such device in Pandora.

My second problem is that a lot of the side-missions just seem to not belong there. The mechanic is pretty much abiding throughout the game: you complete a few story missions and you unlock a batch of side-missions. Nothing wrong with that. Some of them are even fun, similar a whodunit-blazon scenario or a couple that reference movies and games in pretty hilarious ways. However, towards the terminate of the game, the narrative is pretty climatic, you know a plot-twist is well-nigh to hit you in the confront and suddenly a agglomeration of side-missions markers pop upward on your map. I'1000 all for content and playtime, but cramping a agglomeration of random secondary missions just because? Information technology doesn't experience right and it seems like a very cheap way of extending the playtime clock. Naturally, don't exist surprised if towards the end of the game yous start disregarding them. The rewards aren't significant, they add together nada to the story and they get repetitive and boring after a few hours. I would've liked to see, maybe, a lengthier story and less random side-quests.

The 3rd one is a pretty common trouble present: DLC. Gearbox announced before the release of the game that there was going to be a fifth playable form as a DLC. Going off the previous game, we tin approximate there's gonna be a ton of DLC content as well. As is, Borderlands 2 feels a tiny fleck empty. It could've been more and I can't aid but wonder: how much better would've this game been if all that content they're ripping out on release to become an extra buck subsequently would've been there from the start? At the very least, the DLC-just playable graphic symbol rose some eyebrows among loyal Borderlands fans.

To sum it upwardly, Borderlands two is what the first Borderlands should have been: a polished, extremely funny RPFPS. Nevertheless, the focus of the game is however on the grind/itemization/online play combo. If you have 3 bros yous can constantly play with, it'south gonna be ten times meliorate. Exclusively as a single-actor game, it's not the best game e'er but information technology's definitely entertaining and more robust than its predecessor.

My favourite game of all time!!

This game is amazing, and a must get. There is plenty content to entertain yous for hours, especially with the dlc. I have put like a one thousand hours into this game across multiple playthroughs, characters and platforms. The story is bang-up, one of the best villains in gaming history, and very distinctive graphics (cell shading or something I call up it'southward chosen). The characters are and so memorable, and the gameplay is amazing. Due to the abundance of guns, mods, shields etc and enemy types and locations. This game is up there as my favourite of all time aslope bioshock and I proceed coming back to it. You don't need to play borderlands ane before hand, as information technology's a new story. But there are som reoccurring characters so I reccomend it. The pre-sequel is not necessary though. In overall... GET THIS GAME!!!

One of my favorite games ever

Warning: Spoilers

Borderlands ii is hands 1 of the best games I take ever played, ever. It takes what the kickoff Borderlands was (a fun shooter with a lot of guns but not much plot) and turns it into an incredibly fun RPG shooter with a slap-up plot and some surprisingly emotional parts. It builds off of what plot points there were in the first game, and brings back quondam characters (even the original Vault Hunters!) equally likable companions. Of course, just a great plot would not brand this a Borderlands game. Let'due south talk guns. As the ads say, there are indeed BAZILLIONS of guns. No two guns are the same, merely for the most office, they will lay waste to all of your enemies-and you're going to have no shortage of enemies on Pandora. Everything you're going to be fighting ranges from common bandits to midgets with shotguns to Suicide Psychos to every dangerous creature you can imagine. Unfortunately, no game is without its flaws-which at that place are a few of hither. Fast travel points are few and far betwixt, so there might be some missions where you'll notice yourself repeating minor dominate battles over and over again, unless you run through the mission all in one become. Also, I have had a few problems with the game deleting my Badass Rankings from time to time, but it's nothing terribly serious. All in all, Borderlands 2 is hands one of the all-time games ever, period. If you have the money and something to play the game on, yous have no excuse to be reading my review and not buying the game. Take the hint, and buy the crap out of Borderlands 2 before nuclear state of war happens, or something else takes abroad your ability to play this beautiful game.

Most playable FPS game of all time!

Thanks to my cousins, I'm now addicted to the Borderlands serial. This game improves a lot from the first games (expects for the AI sometimes acting dumb), but it never bothers me. I call up I got this game effectually 2013 and this would exist the but game me and my brother play, beside Minecraft. Fifty-fifty though I beaten the game so many times, I can't cease playing it to this day. At present with Borderlands iii coming to stores, I hope it'southward comeback and story-telling and gameplay volition live up like the previous title.

Don't be a bullymong, love your Borderlands 2

Ike of the Rehash Critics: Borderlands was a quantum in gaming with fast interim shooter action and unique graphics. As a first person shooter Borderlands offered more depth than any other platform with intricate skill trees, endless weapon combinations, and unproblematic yet admirable grapheme customization. Gearbox still delivers a superior product with Borderlands 2.

Gameplay: If you are an anti-social anaconda you are missing out on one of the nearly important aspects of the Borderlands 2 parcel. Co-op is a necessity for maximum enjoyment. In unmarried actor fashion in that location won't be every bit much action, survival, killer guns, competition, smack talk, and fun. So pull up your big girl pants and join someone.

Activeness: Endless, challenging, and engrossing. In that location may be a long silence amongst your friends during intense battles, so refrain from resorting to your single player cussing at the video game.

Graphics: Gearbox continues with cel-shading and ups the anti on big bad guy blueprint and difficulty. Don't worry, skags (which also describes Ten'es) are still around but outclassed by the newly introduced bullymongs. The beasties of Pandora, although not vast, add a higher level of difficulty.

New and/or Improved: You volition experience more guns, larger territories (vertically and horizontally), enhanced villains, new characters, new talent trees, crazy creatures, the capability of hiding quondam missions you don't want, and graphic symbol transferable skill points (i.e. add 1% to shield recharge charge per unit, max health, etc…).

Virtually disappointing: Hither information technology is in a nutshell: Maps are tricky with multiple levels and poor direction, some talent trees don't take a whole lot of multifariousness, and the story is not equally engrossing as the commencement.

In summation Borderlands ii met and exceeded 98% of my expectations. I am still playing the 2nd play through and accept not maxed out my dearest for this one. BUY Purchase Purchase, didn't play the kickoff Borderlands BUY Buy BUY. This game is as flawless as it gets.

My Favorite Game Of All Time

This game is the best co-op video game of all fourth dimension and the all-time of the franchise also as my favorite video game of all time. I have completed the story/game over 4 times and would gladly play it again. Hilarious game maintaining super interesting plot with a phenomenal (and my favorite) villian and also not bad npc'south such as Tiny Tina, Claptrap, and Mister Torgue. The loot organisation and farming in this game lend to to very high replayability with 3 levels of playthrough and and then overpower levels. Playing this game with a friend will by far maximaize ability to enjoy the game and the 2 dlc characters and iv dlc locations with new missions are worth your time and money especially Tiny Tina'due south Assualt of Dragon Keep. Good luck Vault Hunters

MASTERPIECE!

The foam of the crop in regards to co-op loot northward' shoot video games. I have spent hundreds of hours on this game over the years, mindlessly shooting down enemies and bosses with friends, leveling upward and collecting loot. Definitely the top of the line in its genre.

Simply Outstanding

Fantastic. This game is the pinical of its genre and maybe even its time. Information technology has a astonishing cell shaded artstyle that at times is gorgeous and artistic. The artstyle's general timelessness has kept the game from aging graphically and has kept it very unique even after all of the time that has passed since the game's release. The character designs are corking and memorable and same with their personalities. The real star of the show is the villain Handsome Jack. He is always hysterical and throughout the game is e'er communicating with the protagonists having some of the all-time barrack from whatsoever villains in gaming. His character just feels so existent and the many complexities of him and the other characters make this game a absolute masterpiece in the story and one-act department. Pretty the story is great and even with the plotholes they never ruined my enjoyment from the story one flake. But with that out of of the mode, it already seems great, afterwards all the story and characters are just then amazing and charming. Only it gets even improve somehow. The hands down best aspect of this already astonishing game is the replay ability of the game. Outset of all the boodle in this game is ridiculously polished, fun, and and great to expect for. While stumbling beyond the blue, purrple, legendary, perleasent, or seraph weapons are great the existent amazing part is that they tin all be farmed by defeated the bosses all once more and hoping information technology drops or killing specific enimes for them. While some drops can exist rare that simply makes each gun more fun to discover or unique. You can even get different versions of every weapon depending on it's parts which adds even more variety. That attribute is amazing but that'due south not all. They went above and beyond with the presentation and gameplay. There are 6 characters each with their own quirks, gimmicks, and best of all skilltrees. This makes every character unique and fun which ensentivises fifty-fifty more play throughs. Everything about each character is unique and fun and I recommend trying them all out to run across which 1 fits your personal play way the most. Each character including the vault hunters has full voice interim that makes them all memorable and fifty-fifty fantastic. All of the voice actors are perfect in their roles. There fifty-fifty more difficulty options and balancing options you optain through play through a as well and it adds even more than playability. To top it all off the solo gameplay and co op experiencies are all extraordinarily amazing and are insane that they agree up every bit much as they exercise. For me personally this is the best poorer shooter game if not even fps of all time. Its holds up pretty much perfectly and most of the gripes I could mention would just be nitpicking anyway. Its as well on every single modernistic console then its its pretty much available to everyone. To exist honest the fact that this game is still so much fun fifty-fifty subsequently so long is outstanding and I recommend checking this game out no matter what blazon of gamer you are. The community is still thriving so in that location is no reason non to bank check out this masterpiece. The combat is some of the near unique and engaging you lot'll find in any fps.

Probably my favourite in the whole franchise.

Looking back after having played this through information technology was pure luck that we ever got anything remotely or nearly every bit entertaining when you see the story, characters, and arc of Borderlands 3. To me the story ends here.

4 Stars out of 5 Stars

Game of the Year Edition: Dorsum at it! What a improvement this was over the beginning game. Not just does the story seem more engaging, thanks to its villains Handsome Jack, but the gameplay/visuals are popping with colour, flair, and bloodshed. I too actually enjoyed the substantial amount of hilarious dialogue this game had; "That sentence had too many syllables. Repent." (Scooter isn't the only funny character this time around). There was also some brutal kills to iii chief characters, which was quite surprising! I might reveal a spoiler and so yous might wanna stop reading, just I was honestly not expecting to impale Jack at the cease of this game. I expected him to bear over in the other games, but nope, I definitely sniped his brains out of his ear holes. It was also a bittersweet goodbye to Angel, but what was the most surprising was seeing Roland die since he was a master grapheme, not simply in this game, merely in the last 1. I'grand glad Tiny Tina kept his legacy alive in the Bunker and Badasses dlc. Speaking of the dlc/seasonal missions, I loved pretty much all of it. I was surprised how much better it was compared the Borderlands 1 dlc. Each dlc had lore, and it felt like I was actually doing main missions throughout instead of simply doing side missions. Everything in this game feels worth it (minus some of these raid bosses). Not a fan of these repeatable missions, and I'one thousand also non a fan of the enemies not leveling to your character so your forced to do game+ so you can go amend loot, which I detect a big waste material of time. I'm not gonna complete the primary campaign twice just and so the enemies in the dlcs will experience matched to my level. Hoping they fix this in the other games.

My favourite video game of all time.

No joke, this isn't hyperbole, this is the greatest game I've ever played. It'southward fun, has an engaging plot with the greatest villain always, Handsome Jack (played by Dameon Clarke), and hilarious sense of humour that rarely brutal curt. Can get a trivial tedious and difficult at times, but homo, information technology can be and then worth information technology. I adore this game.

Reinforcements... depleted

"Don't worry baby, happens to a lot of girls"

Ane of the best - if non the best - Loot Shooters out there. Borderlands two got everything. From an outstanding gaming experience to a pleasant level system, swell loot, a timeless fashion and slap-up long-term motivation to an extraordinary story. If that's what you're looking for, you've come up to the right place. Especially when you're playing with friends.

The Story The story starts after the events of Borderlands 1. You don't take to have played the predecessor, but information technology is an advantage. There are many recurring characters and related events, too as some nice easter eggs, which refer to the commencement Borderlands. Basically, information technology'due south all about the new Vault Hunters. Handsome Jack has more or less taken over Pandora with Hyperion and is nigh to open the mighty vault. The story is presented in a multi-layered manner and with nifty humor. You will love it. But I don't want to spoil anything, considering you should feel this story for yourself.

Graphics The graphics are timeless and will withal convince in 2021 with their excellent furnishings. The lighting in particular is wonderful. Especially since you tin can turn on additional, pretty nice effects with Nvidia Physx. Nowadays you should be able to enjoy Borderlands 2 on the highest settings, because the hardware is strong plenty by now. The game rarely shows that information technology has been around for a few years. But I recommend that you do not install the Loftier Resolution Texture Pack as information technology poses a number of problems. You can attempt it, but my game becomes unstable and crashes every 1-2 hours with an "Out of memory mistake" with the Hard disk drive Texture Pack installed. All in all - The game is still a beauty on its ain.

Sound Higher up all, the voice acting is outstanding. Whether in German or English language, all characters sound authentic. It's just fun to listen to the dialogues and the story. In several places yous just have to express mirth at the funny jokes. The rest of the sound blueprint is still very good, but Borderlands 3 is worlds ahead of that. Especially when it comes to the gun sounds.

User Interface Even if Borderlands 3 brings a amend user experience, Borderlands two still has an like shooting fish in a barrel-to-understand, fitting, and beautiful user interface. I don't have to say more than most information technology.

Endgame & DLCs The first run is normal, followed by the True Vault Hunter Mode and finally the Ultimate Vault Hunter Manner. Basically, it'southward a New Game ++ with great long-term motivation. As in every Loot & Level game, your bones goal is to get better and improve. The game ensures that you stay motivated and always brings a few new things to the table.

You also have some great DLC to choose from. Especially Tiny Tina's Attack on Dragon Keep is only too good. Information technology'south a playable Pen & Paper roleplay. This was a crazy and amazing experience for me. Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary takes place after the events of Borderlands two and Tales of Borderlands and connects the story with Borderlands 3. I highly recommend to play this DLC too, but complete the master story first! Fortunaly, the game warns yous about this.

Since you lot can buy all the expansions cheaply equally a packet, I can only recommend them to you. More than loot. More playing time. More than Borderlands.

In the end all that remains to be said is ... Play. The. Game.
