BioShock Cosplay Is Better Down Where It's Wetter
Lazy fish, bally bunny rabbit masks and a couple of million gallons of saltwater bring on brilliant BioShock-themed imagery.
Capital of Georgia, Georgia is known primarily for three things: William Tecumseh Sherman's pyromaniacal 1864 siege, Outkast's reverberant Stankonia album, and the four Cy Young Awards that Greg Maddux picked in the lead in the aboriginal 90s. Otherwise, it's a sleepy, oppressively hot burg wrought from Coca-Cola bottles and fluffy biscuits.
Also, it has an aquarium. This place, fittingly dubbed the "Sakartvelo Fish tank," contains the usual aquatic beasties, simply in a stroke of oft-replicated engineering blaze, it also includes a division where visitors can stroll beneath the waves in a crude bringing close together of what IT power be corresponding to sleep in a vitreous, underwater city.
Much like the one seen in the BioShock game series.
In on the face of it unrelated happenings, the recent Labor movement Day weekend saw hordes of geeks descend upon the city for the period of time Flying lizard*Con gather. If you've always cared-for the issue, you likely know that IT has get ahead tradition for a large collection of *Con attendees to forgather at the Georgia Aquarium.
Irrational Games, the people behind the BioShock series, likely put the two events together, and knowing their fans' leaning for cosplaying characters from the series, rushed down to the Aquarium to snap photos of BioShock characters in a close approximation of their natural setting.
The result, as you can see from the smattering of images in the verandah below (or in the full accumulation you can find on the firm's Flickr gallery) is preferably clever. The juxtaposition of maniacal splicers and serene liquid life is as jarring a contrast as is practicable in our meatspace realness without actually dismembering anyone or figuring out a way to shoot bees from incomparable's hands.
Though, I have to wonder what the fish entertain this gross thing. The comedy serve is obviously that the bunny masks blow their tiny fishy minds, but actually those are believable the almost jaded sea bass on the planet. They've seen it wholly, and can't be bothered to point unfashionable the anti-Humanist flaws in Objectivist theory, no matter how convincing your Miniscule Sister costume might represent.
